Ph.D. Candidate Asher Lubotzky gave a talk at the University of Houston about African international students in Israel in the 1960s. The talk was sponsored by the ADL Southwest chapter and organized by the Jewish Studies Program at UH.
Ph.D. Candidate Margarita Martínez-Osorio received the prestigious Mellon International Dissertation Research Fellowship to work on her project “Our Land Was a Work of Art: Peasant Protest, Gender, and Utopias of Land in the Colombian Mainland Caribbean, 1910-1980.”

Sarah Knott gave a keynote address on "Thinking About 'Care' from the Age of Covid" to the annual British American Nineteenth-Century Historians conference, held this year in Columbia, Missouri. Our department affiliate Kirsten Sword took part in a roundtable on "Somerset at 250".
Mark Roseman was appointed as Visiting Fellow at Magdalen College, Oxford for Spring 2023.
Rebecca Spang has been named a 2022 Guggenheim Fellow.
