Janine Giordano Drake has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Labor and Working Class History Association.

On February 4, Peter Guardino gave the keynote address,  “Los hombres, las mujeres, y la guerra:  La nueva historia militar y la guerra de 1846-1848” for the Coloquio virtual 1846-1848. Reflexiones historiográficas 175 años después, which was sponsored by the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.

On February 8, Peter Guardino gave the talk “Without Food a Man Cannot March, Nor Fight:  Why Mexico Lost its War with the United States” at the Washington Carnegie Public Library in Washington, IN.

Ellen Wu will deliver the annual Charles L. Wood Lecture for the Texas Tech University Department of History on Thursday, February 10.
