Ph.D. Candidate Katy Doll has accepted a position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities and Politics at Nova Southeastern University.

Gloria Lopez has received the Latino Studies Dissertation Fellowship for 2021-2022.

Meghan Paradis has received Fulbright and DAAD fellowships for dissertation research in Europe.

Julia Riegel has accepted the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Modern European History at Hollins University.

Nico Sillitti has accepted the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of History at Holy Cross College.

Amanda Waterhouse and Chris Jillson have received Future Faculty Teaching Fellowships to teach at Butler University.

Faculty

Kalani Craig presented the keynote address--"Putting Pedagogy First in the Digital Humanities: Low-Risk Inroads to Digital-Methods Research through Faculty-Student Partnerships”--in the opening session for the Inaugural St. Mary's University Research Week (San Antonio, TX) on April 19, 2021.

At the Renaissance Society of America virtual conference, on April 20 and 21,
Kaya Sahin organized six sessions. Five panels, under the title of "Political Ceremonies and Rituals: Global Perspectives," were co-organized with Carina Johnson (Pitzer) and Macabe Keliher (Southern Methodist). Sahin also convened a roundtable, called "Publishing the Global Renaissance." The roundtable brought together past and present editors of Renaissance Quarterly, Journal of Early Modern History, Journal of Global History, Journal for Early Modern Cultural Studies, and Sixteenth Century Journal.

Leah Shopkow's book, The Saint and the Count: A Case Study For Reading Like a Historian (Toronto, 2021) has just been published.

The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning has awarded
Carl Weinberg a Summer Writing-Teaching Grant of $1500 to develop his “Work in Progress” writing tool on Canvas.

Alumni

Morgan Mohr (BA, History, Political Science, and Feminist Policy, 2017) is Associate Director for Strategic Planning, Office of Political Strategy & Outreach at The White House.
