Friday, February 12, 2021

Congratulations to Judith Allen, who has been appointed a Distinguished Professor, the most prestigious academic appointment Indiana University can offer.

Lizzie Grennan Browning and Eric Sandweiss are co-curators of the exhibition Hoosier Lifelines: Environmental and Social Change Along the Monon, 1847-2020, which debuted at the IU Grunwald Gallery of Art on February 9, and will run through March 12. Hoosier Lifelines is an artistic and historical exploration of Indiana’s changing environment along the remains of the historic Monon Railroad, from the Ohio River’s banks to Lake Michigan’s dunes. The exhibition will also travel to New Albany’s Carnegie Center for Art and History, and Michigan City’s Lubeznik Center for the Arts. More information is at: https://soaad.indiana.edu/exhibitions/grunwald-gallery/upcoming/2021-02-09-hoosier-lifelines.html.

Nick Cullather published "The Architecture of Fear Has Already Made Congress Worse" in The Atlantic on February 10.

Amrita Myers was quoted in the piece "He became the nation's ninth vice president. She was his enslaved wife." which appeared in the Washington Post on February 7.
