- Congratulations to Arlene Díaz and Ben Irvin, who have received grants from the Jack and Julia Wickes Fund for the Study of War and Society. Arlene’s grant will support research for A War Beyond the Battlefield, her book project on information, representation, and expansionism during the Spanish-Cuban-American War. Ben’s grant will support research for his book project, Independent Spirit: Revolutionary War Veterans and Disability in the Early United States.

- On April 7, Carnegie Moscow Center published a piece by Ph.D. candidate Stepan Serdiukov on the coronavirus epidemic in the United States and its significance for the upcoming presidential election. The piece is in Russian, and the title is translated as “The Lonely States: Why the USA have suffered from the pandemic more than most."
