  • Cara Caddoo was awarded a New Frontiers Exploratory Travel Fellowship for her new book project on the Lincoln Motion Picture Company.
  • Owen Johnson will present a paper "Changing Memories of Ernie Pyle," at the IAH conference in Bloomington on Saturday, February 20.
  • David Ransel gave a presentation on February 12 at Stanford University on the preservationist movement in Saint Petersburg, Russia. His article on the topic, “From the Del’vig House to the Gas-Scraper: The Fight to Preserve St. Petersburg,” will appear in the spring issue of Kritika: Explorations in Russian and Eurasian History, 17: 2. Another article on a related topic, “Conflicts Over Land Use in the Moscow Region,” is scheduled to appear in the spring issue of Acta Slavica Iaponica, volume 37.
  • Jennifer Stinson (Ph.D. 2009) has received tenure at Saginaw Valley State University.
  • Six undergraduate History majors will be presenting papers at the Ball State Department of History Student Conference, to be held February 26. Students participating include Becky Ferber, Asa Kerr, Samuel Pickett, Grace Shen, Helen Shymanski, and Kyle Sprunger.
