- Peter Guardino published the essay "Connected Communities: Villagers and Wider Social Systems in the Late Colonial and Early National Periods," in Beyond Alterity: Destabilizing the Indigenous Other in Mexico. Paula López Caballero and Ariadna Acevedo Rodrigo, eds. University of Arizona Press. On March 20 Peter gave the talk "Democracy in the Other America: Citizenship in the Early Nineteenth Century" at Vanderbilt University.
